Sitting up very well

Today Brock and Bowen were playing in his room and we decided to see how long little man could sit up on his own. We timed him at about 5 minutes. Brock was so excited that he told NiNi (Aunt Amanda) right when she came through the door to visit!! Every time Bowen does something exciting Brock asks "Mommy is he going to walk now?".  He is so good with his little brother and they both seem to really love each other :) 

Food

Well Bowen loves loves loves his new world of food. He now eats Bananas, Sweet Potatoes, and Applesauce. He actually started to cry the other night while I was feeding him and so I thought he didn't want anymore. Well he cried harder when I put the spoon down so I tried one more time!!! I guess I wasn't feeding him fast enough!?! My big boy loves to eat and will probably weigh more than Brock does now at one year. Oh well...he's probably going to be taller too. I think our next food to try will be Sweet Peas!!

Sitting up better

Tonight Nick and Brock played baseball in the backyard and it was such a nice evening that I brought Bowen's blanket outside and we watched :) Bowen sat up for almost a minute by himself...and he was so proud!!

A Day With the Smith Family

We don't get to see the whole Smith family very much and hang out anymore so we scheduled a Saturday get together. Brock, Tanner, and Taylor played all day and Bowen had a great time watching them. Before you know it he'll be trying to everything they do :) 

Teething?

So, my sweet little boy has been a little irritated today and extra tired. He keeps putting his fingers in his mouth like he's hungry, but he hasn't taken a whole bottle once today. He's had a low grade fever for a few days too. He's probably teething poor thing. Brock didn't cut his first tooth until he was 1o months though and had all the symptoms from the time he was 3 months old!! Oh well, you never can tell for sure with these things. We will just have to wait and see. We will definitely post a pictue when he gets his first tooth :) Night Night.

5 months old

Today Bowen is 5 months old. Since I am just now starting to blog about my children, I will try to go back someday and fill up the rest of story before this time. I can't believe it's already been 5 months. Brock is 3 years old and my little baby that we waited and waited for is already 5 whole months. But he's not so little anymore. He's only 8 1/2 lbs. away from his older brother in the weight department. He is 19.5 pounds. He's such a little chunker, but he's fun to cuddle :) He is such a good baby too (just like his brother was). He only cries to eat, be changed, or when he's tired. He love loves loves his older brother too. No matter what is going on...if Brock is near him he wants to be a part of what his brother is doing. He's now trying to reach out and grab his face and hold on to him. It's SO sweet to watch. I'm hoping he will always love his brother that much. He sleeps so well too. Last night he ate at 8:30pm and didn't wake up this morning until 9am. Now he usually doesn't sleep until 9, but his usual time is 7:30...which is AWESOME considering he woke up about every 15-30 minutes his first 6 weeks of life with lots and lots of gas. But that really seems so long ago now. He started to roll over on his tummy last Monday..and always sleeps on his side (which is probably why he sleeps so well now).  Well, his older brother is waking up from his nap as I type this so I'll have to post more later along with some pictures!!
